Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes

Este museo tiene como misión difundir el conocimiento de las artes visuales según los contextos y épocas. Conserva, protege, investiga, recupera y difunde el patrimonio nacional a través de diversas actividades. Educa al público utilizando métodos de acercamiento e interpretación del arte del pasado y del presente, organiza exposiciones nacionales e internacionales y colabora con la defunción del arte en las regiones de Chile.
Fue fundado por el presidente de la republica y una comitiva el 18 de septiembre de 1880. En 1887 el gobierno adquirió el Partenón donde fue trasladado. En el año 1901 a través de un concurso de arquitectura el arquitecto chileno Emilio Jéquier fue quien construyo la actual escuela y museo de bellas artes la cual a su culminación fue inaugurada oficialmente el 21 de Septiembre de 1910, su fundación paso a ser acto oficial en las fiestas del Centenario de nuestra Independencia.
Pero con el paso de el tiempo a sufrido varias modificaciones, donde se a construido un anfiteatro, una sala dedicada a Roberto Matta, para cumplir con las exigencias museográficas internacionales, entre otras Este museo fue declarado Monumento nacional el 30 de diciembre de 1976.
Algunas de las colecciones que se pueden observas son: pinturas Chilenas, pinturas Españolas, esculturas, pinturas Italianas y esculturas Africanas.
